Looking for Driving Lessons in Midland? You have come to the right place. We have Automatic and Manual Driving Instructors who conduct driving lessons in Midland.

The Midland Licence Centre is located at 5 Clayton Street (Unit 4, corner, Cowie Ct, Midland WA 6056

The Midland Licence center has a relatively high pass rate compared to other licence centres such as Joondlalup, Mirrabooka and Cannington.

One question we get a lot is how can I convert my Automatic (C-A) class licence to a Manual (C) class licence?

You will need to go into your local department of transport branch and book your driving test. In the meantime, we can do lessons for you. Then once you would pass the test you immediately acquire your unrestricted C class (manual) licence.

What are the most common “bad habits” of experienced drivers that are passed on to L platers?

1. Steering Methods

  • Driving instructors will usually teach students the push and pull steering method however it is not a requirement to use the “push and pull” steering method on the Practical Driving Assessment (PDA). The WA Department of Transport will accept either “push and pull” or “hand over hand” methods of steering. You cannot steer with one hand or put your hand inside the steering wheel to turn.

2. No Blind Spot Checks

  • Most experienced drivers rely on their mirrors and not the blind spot. It is a requirement on the PDA that the candidate looks to their appropriate side blind spot anytime the vehicle diverges laterally by more than 1 meter. This includes going around parked cars, merging lanes, Lane changes, leaving the kerb and reversing maneuvers.

3. Coasting (manual cars)

  • Coasting refers to pushing the clutch pedal in for longer than is necessary to perform an action. For example, coasting can be pushing the clutch pedal in at the same time as the brake is applied in preparation for stopping. The clutch pedal should only be depressed a few meters before stopping in most circumstances.
  • Coasting is also failing to complete the gear change before turning a corner and having your clutch depressed while turning the corner. This action is dangerous because the driver has no ability to accelerate while the clutch is depressed and the vehicle could lose control.

If you are looking to book your test at Midland Licensing centre go to the Department of Transport website and click “book my PDA”.

Remember to book your driving lessons in Midland before attempting the PDA. Failing the PDA will cost you $87.90 to re-sit in addition to the disappointment.
